Who we are
BCA holds to a belief in the Triune, infinitely holy and true and personally loving, gracious and merciful, God of the Bible, revealed as the Creator, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, and the three persons of the Father, the Son Jesus the Messiah (fully God and fully Man), and the Holy Spirit.
It will hold to a belief in the inerrancy of the Scriptures, Genesis to the Revelation, in their original languages.
It will hold to a belief in the need for the eternal salvation of people by grace through faith alone in the person of and finished work of the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah.
It will hold to a belief in the natural and biblical revelation of the genders of male and female, and God’s institution of marriage between one man and one woman.
Our Offering

Buffalo Christian Preschool is a ministry of Grace Baptist Church in Floyd, VA. As a community outreach program, our mission is to provide a safe, creative learning environment for the children while they acquire Christian values, social skills, and prepare for academic success. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the boys and girls on individual levels in a loving and nurturing atmosphere. The children will learn through play in our learning centers, practice fine motor skills through a variety of activities, enhance their gross motor skills when playing group games and become literacy ready along the way.
Our curriculum will include Bible lessons, devotions and prayer, along with academic studies which will be directed by each individual student’s needs. Buffalo Christian offers encouragement and prayer support for parents and families of our students. It is our vision to work together with the families to form a solid Christian foundation for life and to prepare the children for academic success.
Half-day 8:00am-12pm
Full-Day 8:00am-3:30pm
Half-day $2250 per year - $225 per month (10 monthly payments)
Full-Day $3000 - $300 per month (10 monthly payments)

We are now enrolling students for Preschool through 6th grade. Our students use the Abeka curriculum coupled with our excellent teacher’s additional resources to ensure our students meet or exceed the state requirements while providing a sound Biblical foundation. Our students learn Bible, Math, English, Science, Physical Education, and History.

Occasional Field Trips taken which may include an extra cost.

We are enrolling for Middle and High School grades. The Middle School curriculum includes Bible, Math, English, Science, Physical Education, and History/Worldview. We use the Alpha Omega and Abeka programs coupled with our teacher’s additional Biblical resources that ensure our students meet or exceed the state requirements and have a sound biblical foundation.
Our High School currently uses the Alpha Omega curriculum in the subjects of Bible, Math, English, Science, and History. Physical education is done daily. Our teachers provide additional resources to ensure our student’s educational needs are met.

Mrs. Lackey is an amazing elementary teacher with a passion for sharing the Gospel and educating students. She has been a treasure in Christian education for many years. She serves as BCA’s principal.

Mrs. Lindsay Wheeler

Lindsay Wheeler BS Religion, MDIV Pastoral Counseling, MEd, Pursuing EDD in Education and Christian Leadership, VA and AZ teaching credentials.
Mrs. Wheeler will be teaching Bible Dual Enrollment and Dual Enrollment Education courses. With a focus on ensuring our students are college-ready and passionate about the Lord, she cares deeply for our students.

Mr. Bob Wheeler
High School & College Coursework
Bob Wheeler BA History, MA History, MA Public Policy and Government, Pursuing PhD in History
Mr. Bob teaches Middle and High School students at BCA. With his passion and extensive knowledge of History, he brings education to life. He engages students and requires critical thinking through the use of primary sources in the classroom for all his subject (History, Worldview, Bible). he can also be found leading the kids in 6-inches for PE. The challenge is still open for someone to beat him.

Mrs. Julie Carter
Tutoring
VA Teaching Credential, B.A. in French and English from Oklahoma Baptist University, and a Virginia elementary licensure (PreK-6) from Radford University.
Mrs. Carter is a long-time teacher with skills in teaching students using technology and traditional educational practices. She has a joyful personality that will set students at ease and make learning fun.

Many of the teachers at BCA have a state teaching certification. Those that do not have degrees in the areas they teach or have been teaching in Christian schools for many years. If you have additional questions about a specific teacher's credentials, please reach out to the school directly.
College course instructors meet all the qualifications required by New River Community College.

The school is not yet ACSI accredited, though we are in the process of getting everything in order to meet the criteria for accreditation.

The school uses Abeka for the lower grade foundational learning. The upper grades use Alpha Omega for their foundational learning. Teachers supplement the materials with engaging Christian materials.

As a Christian school, we do not follow the VA state SOLs. However, for each grade level we ensure that all the content will meet or exceed the SOLs.
Our dual enrollment courses are through New River Community College and the instructors are vetted through the college. Credits are accepted by all colleges and universities that accept New River Community College credits.

There are many benefits to the four day school week- the first is attendance. Parents can utilize the Fridays for doctors and dentist appointments rather than taking students out of class. It also allows the school to plan field trips, educational support days for students falling behind, and educational enrichment days for Fridays, limiting interruptions to the educational rhythm set in each class.

As a school, we use the ESV translation of the Bible for understanding and clarity for the students. However, students are encouraged to bring their Bibles from home to use in the classroom.
